Winter 2014-2015

Summer 2015

Greenhouse frame

The roof is not completed yet

The winter of 2014-2015 had a record number of snowy days.

The minimum temperature is an average value

Hardy palm trees were relatively safe.
Spring 2015

Low temperatures can be a more deadly factor than snowfall

Syagrus romanzoffiana litoralis

Seedling shelf

Precious Dypsis decipiens
Young seedlings are not very cold tolerant.

Most of the seedlings overwintered indoors.

Some species are more stable in snow without extreme temperature drops.

Be careful of the strong sunlight in early spring. I installed a blackout
net here.

Trachycarpus princeps

Parajubaea torallyi var. torallyi

North side

Parajubaea torallyi var. torallyi

Twin torallyis

Howea forsteriana

I used to throw away seeds that didn't germinate here.

The jubaeopsis that germinated here has since overwintered.

Washingtonia robusta

All the leaves die during the winter, but new leaves quickly regrow in the summer.

Solid trunk

When the leafbases was cut off, the crown shaft was revealed.

The crownshaft is reddish-purple

Syagrus romanzoffiana

It has a thinner trunk compared to 'litoralis.

Caryota maxima 'himalaya'

Like Washingtonia, all the leaves wither and regrow in winter.
Growing a tropical fish tank

Cherimola grew well in the aquarium and quickly grew to the ceiling

When the new buds of Chambeironia macrocarpa open, they turn bright red
and are beautiful.
